Planning Tips – Asking a friend vs. Hiring a Pro

Hope everyone’s having a great summer, can’t believe it’s almost Labor Day!  We came across an article that was written for a Seattle Bridal magazine that we wanted to share with everyone.

The journalist regularly takes photos and owns a nice camera.  She took shots at a friend’s wedding and compares them with the Professional Photos.  So for those couples that are considering asking a friend with a nice camera, to cover the day – this should be an interesting read.

So you’ve proposed! ! ! !!

Congratulations! and yes, this post is directed at the grooms. Look we’re not asking you to do male Boudoirs, but we’ll want to take photos of you and the guys.

There’s a lot we can do. I mean these are “The Guys”, “Dah Boys” or maybe just your best buds and family.  We don’t have to cover the guys getting ready, although we can. If we can rally the groomsman at portrait time, we can get some images you can look back on for decades to come.

We want our presence at your wedding to result in a better experience than would have been had without us, so we place a high premium on fun.

If the buddies score points here, the NFC and AFC championship games at your place or “Grand Theft Auto night” on the game console comes that much closer to transpiring.

We actually prepare you for this sort of portraiture on the engagement shoot. Even people who don’t usually like having their picture taken get a lot more comfortable and even enthusiastic after the engagement session. It’s really a great value too.

We’ll talk more about engagement sessions soon,

Allan

Allan on Carolyn and Adam’s Portraits July 13, 2008

Let’s talk about Bride and Groom Portraits today. Click on the first image to cycle through please..

Vicki and I are open to working with couples who don’t want to see each other before the ceremony. Carolyn and Adam are a good example of what can be accomplished if we can photograph the Brides family and the Bride before the ceremony.

If you want a lot of elegant formal poses as well as family portraits, adequate  time has to be allocated for this. Vicki and I will help you set up a shot list, and help you schedule this part of your day.

Good Luck ! ! !
